Essential Tips for Caring for Your Coconut Apricot Candle

Caring for coconut apricot wax candles helps extend their burn time, maintain fragrance quality, and ensure safety. Here are some practical tips:

Before the First Burn

1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6mm) to prevent smoking and uneven burning.
2. Melt Pool: Coconut apricot is unique from other waxes due to its smooth, creamy texture, a full melt pool is not necessary. Coconut apricot wax does not tunnel, instead, as the candle burns, creamy wax clings along the sides of the jar and melts after 3 or 4 burns.

During Use

1. Burn in Intervals: Burn candles for 2–4 hours at a time. Longer than 4 hours can cause overheating.
2. Avoid Drafts: Keep away from fans, open windows, or air vents to promote even burning and reduce flickering or smoking.
3. Use a Snuffer: Extinguish with a snuffer instead of blowing it out to avoid wax splatter and wick movement.
4. Center the Wick: After extinguishing, gently center the wick if it has shifted while the wax is still soft.
